What I Added to My Chair When My Back Stopped Being Quiet

On sitting for too long, noticing too late, and a fix that actually held

What surprised me was how quickly I stopped noticing it was there.

My back started being noticeable around hour five of a long work day. Not painful, just present. A low-level reminder that I had been sitting for a long time in a position that required effort to sustain.

I tried adjusting the chair. I tried sitting differently. These helped for a few minutes, and then I stopped thinking about posture and went back to the same position.

The memory foam lumbar support pillow changed what the default position was. I attach it to the chair with the two adjustable straps, and it sits at the curve of my lower back. The chair does the support now instead of my muscles.

The foam is high-density and does not flatten during the day. The mesh cover breathes, which matters after several hours. The straps have enough tension to hold the pillow in place even when I lean forward.
